We wanted to make something a little different.
Our new Bathroom Cleaner has been developed for the kind of cleaning most of us actually do: wiping down the sink, cleaning around the taps, tackling soap residue and water marks, and giving the bathroom a quick refresh.
Something you can reach for regularly, without filling the room with an overpowering chemical fragrance.
And, most importantly, something that actually works.
Gentle doesn't have to mean ineffective
One of the things we're becoming increasingly interested in at Arborfill is the space between harsh conventional cleaning products and homemade alternatives that don't always quite deliver.
We don't think choosing gentler products should mean compromising on performance.
So rather than trying to make the most aggressive bathroom cleaner possible, we've developed a balanced formula designed to deal with everyday bathroom grime, soap residue and light water marks, while still being pleasant to use.
It's exactly what we mean when we talk about Everyday. Gentle. Effective.
Every ingredient has a purpose
We like simple formulations, but simple doesn't mean throwing a few ingredients together and hoping for the best.
Each of the key ingredients in our Bathroom Cleaner has a job.
Citric Acid
Helps tackle soap scum, water marks and everyday limescale.
Decyl Glucoside
A gentle, plant-based non-ionic surfactant that helps lift dirt and everyday grime.
Sodium Gluconate
A clever little ingredient that binds minerals found in hard water, helping improve cleaning performance and reduce mineral residue.
Preservative Eco
Keeps our water-based formula fresh, safe and stable throughout its shelf life.
Nothing is there simply because it sounds good on a label. And nothing is hidden.
The cloudy appearance comes from the way our preservative system disperses within the formula. It's completely normal with this product and doesn't affect how it cleans.
Why not just use vinegar?
Vinegar absolutely has a place in eco cleaning, but we didn't want this product to feel like a bottled DIY cleaning recipe.
We wanted something more refined: effective on everyday bathroom mess, pleasant to wipe across a surface and easy to incorporate into normal life.
Citric acid gives us the powerful acidic cleaning support we're looking for without building the entire formula around vinegar. Our Eucalyptus is scented with pure eucalyptus oil which makes your bathroom smell so fresh without the smell of vinegar that not everyone likes.
What isn't inside?
We've also deliberately formulated without SLS/SLES, parabens, chlorine bleach, ammonia or artificial dyes, preservatives and fragrance.
This isn't about suggesting that anything with a long chemical name should be feared. Quite the opposite.
We want to be transparent about what we use, why we use it and what each ingredient actually contributes.
Eucalyptus or Fragrance Free
We're initially keeping things deliberately simple with two options.
Eucalyptus has a naturally fresh, botanical scent that feels completely at home in the bathroom without the need for an overpowering synthetic fragrance.
And our Fragrance Free Bathroom Cleaner contains no added fragrance or essential oils, giving fragrance-sensitive households a genuinely unscented option.
Two versions. One carefully considered base formula.
Refill. Reuse. Repeat.
The Bathroom Cleaner is also designed around the refill system.
Keep your spray bottle and simply refill it when you run out, rather than replacing the whole bottle every time. Choose from a 1L pouch or 5L refill option.
